Greetings fellow Arkansas Skilled and Technical Science teachers,
My name is Vinson Carter, and I am the president of the Arkansas Association for Skilled and Technical Sciences (AASTS).
This year has been an exciting challenge for me as I have moved from Springdale High School to the University of Arkansas. Here are some other important dates to remember:
Arkansas ACTE Scholarship Application Deadline ‐ February 13, 2009
AASTS New Teacher, Teacher, and Administrator of the Year Application Deadline ‐ April 1, 2009
Arkansas SkillsUSA Leadership and Skills Conference ‐ April 14‐15, 2009
As you know the Arkansas Legislature will be in session this fall. It is imperative that we are in contact with our state senators and representatives. We must make our Skilled and Technical Science programs visible to these leaders. This should not be the first time that the legislature is made aware of the importance of CTE in the state of Arkansas. I encourage you to act now. We are ataching ACTE Region IV's position for 2009/2010. PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING:

Sincerely,
Vinson Carter
